Job Description The Yale Office of Sustainability and the Yale Peabody Museum are seeking a student to assist with the coordination of Yale Biodiversity Citizen Science Project. The goal of citizen science at Yale is to train students, faculty and staff to survey, measure and record biodiversity on campus in the form of birds and plants. The project provides expert-led bird and plant walks throughout the different seasons of the year to the Yale community and coordinates the collection of campus biodiversity observations through an online database to be launched in September. Responsibilities will include: • Provide support for bird and plant walks, trainings and information sessions • Scheduling of events throughout the year; managing attendee responses • Maintaining a participant database • Program publicity, including the development of press releases and announcements about the program and content development for the Yale Citizen Science web page
Job Requirements Requirements This position is open to both undergraduate and graduate students. The ideal candidates are self-starters with excellent written and oral communication skills and an interest in biodiversity on campus.
